Eddie Butcher was born in Magilligan, County Derry in 1900. The album was recorded on location and in Dublin by Dave Bland. Notes and transcriptions by Hugh Shields.

One of these songs in particular was picked up by Paul Brady and appeared on his first solo album; Welcome Here Kind Stranger. This was the song "Don't Come Again".
