| | "although I think that Celtic Music continued to use the Trailer label, so you can't be certain..."
I'm quite certain that Celtic Music did not continue to press records using the Trailer label. I can date this yellow label to before Trailer went bankrupt so there is absolutely no doubt about which label came first.
Celtic Music bought a huge stock of vinyl and kept it in their warehouse in Yorkshire. Harrogate I think it was. They also bought up Rubber, Black Crow, a large proportion of Mulligan's output, Dambuster, Greenwich Village and many other folk labels. When they did reissue material eventually it was on CDR discs with relatively poor quality inserts. |

| | I have a (poor) photo of this LP with red Trailer labels, so it was apparently pressed with both. That might confuse the chronology of the label colour. |

| | I've added scans for the yellow version of the original Trailer labels. The company details on the rear of the accompanying sleeve are different to those shown, so I've added a scan of the relevant part of the sleeve. Oddly, the "5 North Villas" address is consistent with the earliest Trailer releases (late 60s/early 70s) whereas the scan I've added dates my copy to about 1977/78. The sleeve stock must have got used up in a pretty odd order, for such an early sleeve to end up on an 80s reissue. |

| | As Scrough has explained this issue is from about 10 years after the original issue was released. Oddly enough the cover looks to have been from the original print run. Covers were often done in larger numbers than the records so this mismatch often occurred for labels such as Topic and Trailer, where unlimited finances were the stuff of dreams.
John Zollman was the man behind the Highway label which was run successfully for several years, issuing records by Silly Wizard, Kitsyke Will, Pete & Chris Coe, Muckram Wakes, Peter Bond, Cosmotheka and many more. Sadly, its demise resulted in the Leader and Trailer back catalogue ending up in less scrupulous hands. |

| | Yes, the Trailer label is probably the earlier one in this case, although I think that Celtic Music continued to use the Trailer label, so you can't be certain. I've just dug out some of my later Trailer purchases and found that they are Highway labelled too.One cover says that Highway took over marketing of Trailer (and Leader) from 11 June 1979. So check the back cover - original Trailer LPs will have a Leader Sound Ltd logo and nothing else. |

| | Thanks for the info. So presumably, the Trailer label edition is the earlier of the two? I notice a Trailer logo is present on these labels too. |

| | Trailer were sold to Highway, but it quickly went bust, and was then sold to Celtic Music run by Dave Bulmer. Bulmer's ownership caused much controversy, which continues up to the present day. |
