Notes Arthur Tracy, of whose birth name was Abba Avrom Tracovutsky, was born in Kamenetz-Poldosky of the Russian Empire, which is now the Ukraine. Mr. Tracy emigrated with his immediate family to the United States in 1905 to escape the tyranny that occured in the Russian Empire. After the Tracovutsky family arrived at Ellis Island, they settled in Philadelphia. However, Mr. Tracy relocated to New York in 1924 to find employment in the music industry. Eventually, Tracy moved to Hollywood, CA in 1932 to co-star in a radio musical comedy called the Big Broadcast. During this era, Mr. Tracy crooned some of the tunes, such as The Whistling Waltz, Danny Boy and Marta appeared on this disc. Marta, also known as Marta, Rambling Rose of the Wildwood was the favorite theme song of Mr. Tracy. Also, all the songs of this disc were popular standards of the early part of the twentieth century.
