Sleeve notes: "In 1935 the late DuBose Heyward, co-author of the play Porgy, which served as the vehicle for George Gershwin's opera, Porgy And Bess, wrote an article titled 'Porgy and Bess Returns on Wings Of Song' for Stage Magazine. Extracts from that article, which subsequently appeared as a chapter in Merle Armitage's book, 'George Gershwin', appears below, reprinted by the kind permission of Mr. Armitage.
"Mr. Heyward's article appeared in Stage almost two years before Gershwin's death in Los Angeles on July 11, 1937 at the age of 38."
