I didn't know myself originally that all of Jack's early material wound up in one bundle, as far as ownership. When Capitol first came out with their Collector's Series on CD in the early '90s, I passed on Jack's volume, thinking that the earlier songs were re-recordings. I was wrong. I love Jack's early stuff. With the sparse instrumentation & low voice, he reminded me of a more rock & roll version of Johnny Cash. Sadly overlooked nowadays...

 OK, thanks Bill.

It's legit, issued as Jack was switching labels. Once he got to Capitol, EMI wound up owning all of his recordings from the very beginning anyway, ABC-Paramount, Carlton (& Guaranteed), Top Rank & Capitol.

This one looks suspiciously like a boot to me, particularly the back sleeve. Four tracks on side two appear to be from ABC Paramount.

 Extremely rare.
Conway Twitty made a hit of What Am I Living For at that time, and Jack's made no dent. Originally by Chuck Willis.
Baby She's Gone means to say "My baby, she's gone".
