Notes

A renowned pianist and accordionist named Peter Ceragioli a.k.a. Pete Jolly had learned to play the accordion at a very early age, and was featured by means of the Hobby Lobby radio program in Phoenix. In 1952, Mr. Jolly had relocated to Los Angeles, where he started collaborating with top West Coast jazz musicians, and doing studio and session work. Furthermore, Mr. Jolly had recorded several LPs by means of Atlantic, Ava, A & M and other record labels a solo performer

Mr. Jolly had composed the tune "Little Bird", which was a minor success by means of the Ava records label, but was ironically nominated for a Grammy Award in 1963. A year later, Mr. Jolly had established the Pete Jolly Trio which had included two other members, Chuck Berghofer, the bassist and Nick Martinis, the drummer. Mr. Jolly had recorded several LP discs by means of various jazz labels either as a soloist or with this trio group.

Despite the fact that this A & M disc did not sell well, Herb Alpert, who had co-owned the A & M label, was so impressed with the work of Mr. Jolly that Mr. Albert had secured a recording contract with Mr. Jolly. Finally, this was the third-ultimate A & M disc of 33.33 rpm that was both monaurally and stereofonically issued in the United States.
