Notes

Chester (Chet) Atkins, who was called Mr. Guitar by most of his listeners, had recorded and sold more discs of 33.33 rpm than any country artist had ever. By means of this thirty-eighth disc of 33.33 rpm, a liner note indicates that Mr. Atkins learned to play the guitar and wonderful music in his hometown of Luttrell, which is located in the Clinch Mountain range near Knoxville, Tennessee.

This disc contains two blues tunes, Sittin' on Top of the World and Sweet Georgia Brown from which he created a way to sing such tunes in a bluegrass style of music even though the Georgia Brown tune is mostly heard in a strumentale whistling sound that became the theme song of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Although this album was very popular with bluegrass music listeners, this disc did not sell well enough to reach the 200th position of the Billboard hit parade of discs of 33.33 rpm. Consequently, this disc became one of the most sought-after albums of country music listeners due to the music style and by the front and reverse jacket images of the hometown of Mr. Atkins.

Lastly, this was the final disc of 33.33 rpm of Mr. Atkins that was first issued by means of the RCA Victor label that has the dog and fonograf images and was his final disc that was both monaurally and sterofonically issued in both the United States and Canada.
