I agree; and put the "NBC-TV Special" in the notes.
Every country has the tracks listed different; even if it calls for 2 tracks.
Not sure what to do.
Cheers:

To be honest Doug, this album should really just be titled "Elvis".

Not sure how to list the Canadian release of this.

Is it "TV Special", or "NBC-TV Special" as listed everywhere else.
Also... this is very different than everywhere else for the track listings.

... ?? Anyone ??

Added 1st pressing labels with Reed credit instead of Hubbard.

Too bad I can't help you there, my knowledge of his records is pretty much limited to US issues. "Vertigo" - great movie, by the way.

He He He... I am keeping it narrow to as near to original UK RCA issues as I can (For the music) maybe I'll fall into that Jimmy Stewart-Vertigo animated dream sequence- mind trip of label variations and all that as a matter of course.

Odd thing though, is that Beatles records have had such scrutiny , that different variations command different prices as listed in the UK RRPG, Elvis doesn't seem to have any mis-pressings, label errors, contract pressings etc. listed there. Odd.

You're in for quite a ride. Collecting his records can be mind-boggling, there's so many variations because his records were in print for so many years, & I'm just talking about the US pressings!

Thanks for the info By the way Bill.

I'm only just beginning as far as Elvis is concerned, and making an effort to finally get something more than impression of his music.

So even more confusing than even originally thought!

You can maybe see a possible source of the error for the guys printing the labels:

With Reed not being Reed, but Hubbard, except for Reed who is, and is not Hubbard!

No, you have Jerry Reed Hubbard (full name of Jerry Reed), & then you have Jimmy Reed (the bluesman)...2 different people.
Released in mono only, that's how the TV special was recorded. Surprised that RCA didn't also release this in that horrible "electronically re-channeled" stereo, like they did for all of Elvis' other mono-only masters. Glad they didn't, though...
This TV special was the first time any of Elvis' live recordings were released to the public.

There's a lot of strange things going on with these labels Vinyl Fan!

while these orange labels Credit "Hubbard" for both (the apparent correction), the track immediately following it on side one "Baby what you want me to do" is Credited to "Reed"!

Same Reed? If so, they apparently overlooked that one. (A Mistake even replicated on the black labels above too).

On early issues of this lp, the songwriting credit for Guitar Man is given to Reed. Hubbard is issued on later copies, Hubbard is actually Jerry Reed. I own the first issue and will put it up on here when my scanner gets to working again.

Issue date for this mono release under this catalog number really should be 1968, date of original issue
