Although this was the first-issued Joe Cocker disc of 33.33 rpm, the title was not eponymous until the second Joe Cocker LP was issued later in 1969. Mr. Cocker popularized a rendition of the Beatles tune "With A Little Help From My Friends" that was in a hard-rock style. Though this tune was a minor success in the United States, this was a major success by means of the British Hit Parade of tunes. Furthermore, this disc of 33.33 rpm was so prosperous in the United States that this disc was certified gold.

While Mr. Cocker was not a prolific composer to the level that the duo of Lennon/McCartney were, he composed three tunes, "Change In Louise", "Marjorine" and "Sandpaper Cadillac" of this disc with his songwriting-partner Chris Stainton. Additionally, more than twenty performers had collaborated to make these tunes of this disc prosperous.

Finally, this was the only Regal Zonophone disc of 33.33 rpm of Joe Cocker that was both monaurally and stereofonically issued in Great Britain.
