The tan labels entered above are from the 1978 reissue that has the same cat#. So all scans here attributed to me are from the 1978 edition and not from the original 1973 version of the album. I'm getting a new copy soon - the EU 2016 Parlophone release - it'll be interesting to compare the two. Hopefully the new one eclipses the old one but that is often not the case.
The current vinyl LP re-release frenzy going on in world at the moment has revealed quality control to be a real issue.
Almost every album for sale these days has some sort of claim of high fidelity such as remastered, half-speed remastered, remastered from analogue tapes, or even the LP weight. This is all to do with how the big music corporations see the vinyl buying public as a market and is not necessarily a good thing. A classic example would be the coloured vinyl craze that seems to have taken hold. Vinyl purists will tell you that black vinyl is better sounding than coloured vinyl and I also think along these lines. However, a large number of the LPs currently in circulation are for some reason pressed on coloured vinyl. This can sometimes work well but mostly the result is not so good usually due to pops and heavy tracking noise. It just bamboozles me why go to all the extremes in some areas then put it out on poor quality coloured vinyl and not offer a black version for those of that want to listen to our music rather than look at it. Should have put this in a forum I think.
This is a late 70's early 80's re-release but was also a gatefold sleeve like the initial pressings. Feel free to add a better cover mine's seen better days.
