I have found a website which lists all the London LP series (UK and US) as well as lots of other US labels. It is called Both Sides Now and the link is
http://www.bsnpubs.com/index.html

There were the following London American series of LP’s
H-APB (10”)
HB (10”)
HA 2000 series (12” mono)
SAH 6000 series (12” stereo)
HA 4000 series (12” mono)
SAH 4000 series (12” stereo)
LZ London Jazz (10”)
LTZ London Jazz (12”)

Prior to about 08/62 any London American 12” mono LP’s were issued in the
HA 2000 series. Any stereo versions were issued in the SAH 6000 series.
The mono and stereo versions of the same record had different numbers.
After this date the new HA 4000 and SAH 4000 series started. From then on the mono and stereo versions of the same record had different prefixes but the same number.
The last LTZ series LP was LTZ15241 issued about 06/62.
Any stereo versions corresponding to the LTZ mono releases were issued in the
SAH 6000 series along with the stereo versions of the HA 2000 series.

You can see details of many of the London releases (including the LTZ series)by looking at images of pages of the New Records Catalogue at
http://www.45cat.com/45_forum_topic_view.php?t=611

In addition to the London American series there were the following series of London LP’s
AL Archive Jazz (subsequently Origins of Jazz) (10”)
D London Ducretet Thompson (10”)
DKL London Ducretet Thompson (12”)
OL London L’Oiseau Lyre (12”)
GBL London Globe (12”)
TW, TWV London International(12”)
W, WB London International (10”)

Note that London Atlantic, London Dot, London Monument etc. were just label variations but were part of the standard HA series.

About the same time that London started the green-label 10-inch "Origins of Jazz" series, they started the red-label 10-inch "American Jazz" series using the LZ-x 14000 series (where "x" was a letter designating source label). The American Jazz Recording series started in 1954 and was overtaken in 1956 by the 15000 12-inch "American Jazz Recording" series.

Actual number released I don't have but it should not be too hard to manage on a list. If at a later date it starts to appear to be unmanageable/unusable then it can be looked at again as to the best way forward.

Judging by the number on this one, and what's in Discogs, about a couple of hundred - the highest numbered one in Discogs is The Modern Jazz Quartet's European Concert vol. 2, LTZ-K 15223, and the highest one on the list here is Sammy Price, 15240.

Sounds good,my only concern would be the potential length of a seperate list, there must be hundreds?.

It was agreed by the mods in the early testing stages that London Jazz would be entered as London and a list would be produced to group them together.

I will get my finger out today and update those entered as London Jazz to London and will update the list.

Please let me know if any other crop up and need editing.

That list of 8 by sladesounds does not include all the London Jazz that have been added?.I have added records under "London Jazz",as that's how they are entered on Discogs.

I didn't even notice the list, but now that I've seen it, I tend to agree with you. Perhaps the London Origins Of Jazz needs to be treated along similar lines, as the covers say "Origins Of Jazz" but the labels say "Jazz Origins Series", and then there's London Atlantic and London Dot entries in 45cat from Australia and elsewhere (but not the UK, funnily enough!).

I'm personally of the opinion that this should just be London... and so should those others.

But I await further opinion.

If you look below there is already a list created to group these "American Jazz Recordings" series LPs together which would for me negate the need to have a separate "label" for them.

Thoughts, anyone?

Shouldn't the label for this be London Jazz (for which there are already some entries, though this one wouldn't musically be jazz by any stretch of the imagination!) or even London Atlantic Jazz?
