Just returning to this record and just cannot believe how beautiful and complete it is as a package. He could and should, after leaving the Johnstons, have created at least 5 different records like this one, before branching out into Hard Station, which was, in itself, a tour de force. He wrote some great songs in the 1980s but I just wish that he had seen fit to do more amazing traditional work that he did on this album and the "Andy & Paul" LPs which preceded it, rather than going straight onto the Rock/Pop phase.
Possibly should be considered as the second of the Paul Brady & Andy Irvine LPs. Andy Irvine plays mandolin, harmonica & bouzouki and helps with arrangements.
Paul learned "Don't Come Again" from the singing of Eddie Butcher and from this record in particular.
