Notes

1981 MCA re-issue of Peacock PLP 101; record is new MCA pressing with new catalogue number; cover is original Peacock artwork (not even ABC Peacock!) with new MCA number stamped on the front in gold.

Label says (P) 1974 MCA Records, Inc. - that date comes from ABC's reissue of the album.

Great 1956-1959 sides from the Julius Cheeks-era 'Gales on the second Peacock gospel album (the first being "A Christian Testimonial" by The Dixie Hummingbirds). Did Don Robey really write track B4, or indeed, anything at all? Discuss!

Incidentally, this reissue apparently corrects an error that was made on ABC pressings of both this album and "The Best Of The Sensational Nightingales" (PLP 137), in that track B5 is now correctly "To The End", whereas the song "In The End" had been used by ABC.

Also have to mention musical director David (better known as Dave) Clark, who worked with B.B. King and others, and in his final years ran the gospel catalogue at Malaco Records in Jackson, MS.

And who the h*ll is Dzondira La Isac, who contributed OTT sleeves notes to many a Duke-Peacock release?
