Mutter Slater has said that this could have been the band’s breakthrough album- if they “hadn't imploded just before it's release which was delayed because of a vinyl shortage. Most of the impetus the band had built up over the previous years had forestalled because of line-up changes and a change of musical direction. It was still our most successful album though thanks to George Martin's name.”

Added photo of Stackridge with producer Sir George Martin in the studio.
Pinafore Days, Humiliation and God Speed the Plough are orchestrated by George Martin, and he plays piano on Humiliation .
