liner-notes by roger st. pierre on the musical pieces and also upon the former child prodigy pianist, solomon, who always worked under just his first name, who was born in 1902, the son of a tailor in the east end of london and having toured as concert pianist from the age of eight, retired as a child prodigy at the age of sixteen to study music and technique returning to concert performance in 1921 and being awarded the CBE in 1946.
