In essence this is a "Best of The Contours" compilation album, issued to cash in on the release of the title song "Baby Hit And Run", as a U.K. single (cat. no. TMG 886) on 8 February 1974.

Although recorded in January 1967, and not 1965, as is suggested in the sleeve notes, this was the first official release of the title song. Two earlier ones recorded in late 1966, with different lead singers (Billy Gordon and Jerry Green) remain unissued.

The Contours' cover version of The Temptations "It's Growing", again recorded in early 1967 and featuring Dennis Edwards on lead vocals, is the only other "new" song on this album and this is still its only vinyl appearance, although more recently it has been released on CD.

All the other tracks have been previously released.

This is a Monaural recording that has been electronically enhanced for Stereo effect.

No year date is given on the labels or cover.
