mfp's release schedule does seem from this to've been wildly different - indicative of a marketing strategy unlike that of most major labels, perhaps?
(& iirc, the four tops said they earned an awful lot more from their probe/anchor/abc & later labels than they did from motown°, however hit or miss their releases - and the formatting of the group's name - may have been. . .)
(° - though it's the emi uk tamla motown-era singles yr hmbl srppnt. most remembers best...)
Release date from MOTOWN: THE HISTORY by Sharon Davis; MFP albums 50416-50423 (all Motown recordings) were all released then. Also added in the rest of the writer credits from my copy. And to be pedantic, the group's name properly does NOT include "The" - MFP got it right on the cover, but sadly not on the labels! (Motown got it right most of the time the group were signed to them, but did occasionally slip up, as on the US issue of the first "Greatest Hits" LP. The group's other labels were much more hit-and-miss.)
