Lee Wrecker, you want this one too! The sisters' fifth (I think) Savoy album made up of 1959 sessions, kicking off with the stomp-your-hands-clap-your-feet raver "We Need Power", with Jackie Verdell in full flight, and pianist Curtis Dublin and the unknown organist and drummer are clearly having a ball too! Jackie seems to share the leads 50/50 with Ruth Davis on this one (including some joint efforts), whether that's because the group intentionally increased her profile (because she was BLOODY GOOD) or because of Ruth's health (she had diabetes, which would claim her life in 1970) I don't know. "We Need Power", "Bye And Bye" and "Jesus Gave Me Water" are on the best-of CD,, but I don't think the LP was ever reissued via Arista or SavGos, so happy hunting! In the meantime, I need to devote some serious energy to tracking down the rest of their LP's!
