Notes

Jerry Butler is a talented musician and singer who had much more success a solo career than he had when he was a member of the Impressions. During the sixties, Mr. Butler had a prosperous career at the V. J. Recording Studio where he had popularized He Will Break Your Heart, Moon River, Make It Easy On Yourself, and with Betty Everett, Let It Be Me.

After the Vee Jee label went bankrupt, Mercury records had purchased that business from which Mercury had earned more money the first year than Vee Jay had done in three years. Accordingly, Mr. Butler had become more successful after popularizing I Dig You Baby, Mr. Dream Merchant, and Only The Strong Survive, which was the final tune that had peaked in the top five percent of both the Billboard and Cash Box Hit Parades of 100 positions of discs of 45 rpm.

This Mercury disc had sold moderately well and so did the next few LP discs that Mr. Butler had recorded. Lastly, this was the penultimate Mercury disc of 33.33 rpm of Mr. Butler that was commercially issued both monaurally and stereofonically.
