Notes

BB March 16, 1968

Although the Ever-Green Blues was virtually unknown in early 1968, they were the first rock group that were sent on a fifteen day mission thru which Mercury records had fully paid an airline tour so that this group would have a rare occasion to promote their unique music style.

The seven group members are Manny Esparza, the lead singer, Ken Walther, the trombonist, Rick Barrio, the lead and rhythm guitar, Sam Lombardo, the drummer, Joe McSweyn, the bassist, Steve Lawrence, the organist, and Tom Bray, the trumpet player.

Not only was this the first disc of 33.33 rpm thru which this group had debuted their professional recordings, but this was also the FINAL Mercury disc of 33.33 rpm that was monaurally issued exclusively to radio stations due to the fact that no mono stock copies of this disc are known to exist. Accordingly, this was the first Mercury disc of 33.33 that was stereofonically distributed to the record shops.
