ENCORE was one of the world's first budget labels to specialize in the reissue of original full-price albums. The label was first introduced by the parent British EMI company several years earlier but, prior to MGM's Stateside launch of their own Metro label, no agreement existed for the marketing of Connie Francis albums on anything other than the standard rate. The British Encore label, which, by the mid-Sixties, took a back seat to newer budget arrivals MUSIC FOR PLEASURE and REGAL STARLINE, employed a logo featuring a pair of hands raised in applause. The above album is part of a series of releases which "borrowed" the Encore name and logo but appear on the MGM label. Items issued in 1965 were supplied in plain covers containing title of the collection, details of contents, catalog number, the words "ENCORE SERIES" and logo, and with the familiar YELLOW/BLACK MGM label design reproduced in PALE GREEN and BLACK. Those released in 1966 were housed in original picture sleeves and with a TURQUOISE and SILVER label design.
