Here's the song SHOT DOWN IN DENVER that Bruce and Al Lawrence wrote, previously recorded by the Australian group Chalice. A version was also done by Sha Na Na.
Seemingly South Africa was the only place where the single BORN TO BREAK MY HEART was a success. First appearing on the airplay/popularity chart on Radio 5 on 13 November 1977 and peaking at #11. Then entering the sales chart Top 20 on 14 January 1978 with a #18 high, issued on the RCA Victor label.
When Bruce's album AFTER THE SHOW was released there was a flaw in the pressing that caused the track BORN TO BREAK MY HEART to skip. To make up for it, Millennium (Casablanca) rush released a special "Collectors Edition - First Release - Promotional Copy" 12" 45 - 33 1/3 to make up for the mistake. It's doubtful the LP AFTER THE SHOW ever sold enough to garner a second pressing with the flaw corrected.
