ppint. 28th May 2017		philmh: saul zaentz of elan enterprises, inc. had a finger in many pies, not least one providing the route via which iron crown enterprises obtained their licence to create and produce their middle-earth roleplaying game, campaign & other sourcebooks, adventures and their poster-map of the whole of middle-earth° in the third age. . . ° - being considerably greater than just the northwestern quadrant mapped by jrrt



PhilMH 1st Oct 2015		Added images (852186/852187) of first pressing labels showing "Distributed by Fantasy Records". (Not sure where I got the other two label images - probably Discogs). In 1977-1980 (maybe a bit later), the Stax catalogue was actually owned by something called Elan Enterprises, which seems to have been a partnership of Fantasy executives Saul Zaentz and Ralph Kaffel with the people who acquired the catalogue at the bankruptcy auction, but sometime later Fantasy acquired the catalogue outright.



PhilMH 1st Oct 2015		Reissued on CD in 1987.
