Notes

A10 had a misprint on the label, should've been "Barry", not "Arry", and B3 the credit wasn't complete, should've been "Sonny Till & The Orioles", A7 should've been "Mission Bell"(singular), and I suspect the Bradford in Bradford & Lewis might be Janie Bradford, who helped compose a few early Motown tracks, including Barrett Strong's "Money(That's What I Want)"

Keep an eye out, RC, I'll submit it in the next couple of days(the J O'K 40th Anniversary tribute LP, that is).

RC, I was referring to the 40th Anniversary album, but wasn't even aware of a second K-Tel J O'K album, let alone a third.

You might be referring to 40th anniversary album issued in 1975 but he there's a third album in the early 1980s

If that's the tribute album, I recently picked it up on LP but had the cassette first.

I think I'm going to have to check the contents of this album to see if there are any more rerecorded songs. K-Tel's credibility is already in tatters just with one rerecorded track. The "Original Hits" claim here is totally bogus as such a claim can only be made if the tracks are as per the original 45rpm issues.

Oh dear! A rerecording! So much for the Original Hits claim. How many more are there? I do so hate it when they do this, and it shoots their credibility to smitherines as well. And RC, perhaps those Keyboard Gremlins are "pointing the bone" at you(hee-hee).

Well, here it is, the Australian edition of Tear Jerkers, only 20 tracks so there wasn't any need to "crop" any of the songs. I'm fairly certain they're original recordings(no re-rerecorded songs among them), otherwise they wouldn't be able to claim "original hits". Mod, if you could add the American version as the "linked release", please, so comparisons can be made of the contents.
