This is the second Deram disc of 33 rpm that was issued in the United States. This group consisted of two males and two females who created an innovative way to play Latino music. Even though Tony Clark, who is a reknowned producer of the United Kingdom, did a wonderful job at producing the tunes of this disc, this disc did not sell well in neither the United Kingdom, nor the United States. The title "Los Escudos" means the shields in both the Spanish and Portughese languages. Deram issued this Los Escudos disc of 33 rpm with twelve tunes both in the United Kingdom and the United States, which was unusual at that time due to the fact that US London and US Deram discs of 33 rpm contained twelve tunes whereas the UK Decca and the UK Deram discs of 33 rpm had consisted of fourteen songs.
