"Booger" is also a US term used by children to describe dried mucus as Chuck Berry once sang" I boogied in the Kitchen, I boogied in the hall..I boogied on my finger and wiped it on the wall.

Black label is not a variant but a reissue from when the label design changed...and it’s definitely “booger”!!!

Hi Jules, still sounds like bugger to me !

Clearly 'booger' which Wiktionary defines as "A thing; especially a problematic or difficult thing" (etym related to boggart), but this would have caused problems for airplay in Britain at the time

Judge for yourselves at about 2 mins.

Sounds like "bugger" to me although I think the word has a different connotation in America.
Someone who "bugs" you.

Bill, was it really "bugger" or, as Paul Pelletier suggested, "booger", apparently an American term easily mistaken for "bugger"? I haven't heard the song, so can't offer an opinion one way or the other!

'That's right' on this album is the same as the London issue, ie it has been edited to omit the word 'bugger' from the original Sun 45 issue.

Thanks for that information Tony, and for adding the record (I can cross that off my 'to do' list ;-)

Mike Raven was also responsible for the issue of the Ace of Hearts LP of the Johnny Burnette Trio :a reissue of the original Coral 10" LP.

Mike Raven is fondly remembered by many members of the 45cat community and it is good to see this instance of his work. The promotional leaflet mentions a 'series' which he was to have put together, and it will be interesting to see if any more of these show up here.
I don't know what the Embassy NR- series was for, but we have a few later NR- releases here already.
Mike Raven had an interesting career, of which his Pirate Radio work was only a small part - see Wikipedia
