CB Album Reviews: February 18, 1967

Soon after Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel hit it big with "The Sounds of Silence" and "I Am A Rock", the vultures put out this budget LP, and a similar one on the Sears (& Roebuck) label with some of their 1950's recordings as Tom & Jerry, Artie Garr, and Jerry Landis to make a quick buck.

ordway1440 13th Oct 2017		Sadly these tracks were overdubbed to a small extent, also. HEY SCHOOLGIRL is a prime example. The original single did NOT have that tambourine and percussion on it, and notice how the fidelity of those overdubs is much much cleaner than the rest of the recording.



stereotom 29th Apr 2015		Tia-Juana Blues was first issued as Blue Mud by Lee Simms And His Orchestra on Big Records. Lee Simms was Louis Simon, Paul's father.



vidman45 23rd Mar 2014		Fred, I neglected to mention that Sid Prosen gave himself label credit as producer of this LP. Both the instrumental "Tia-Juana Blues" and "That's My Story" were issued in August, 1966 on an ABC-Paramount and ABC 45-10788. See 45Cat.
