Hi Jasper, I still have a few of my Australian Record Club pressings (and one or two which I got second-hand, I also have a club pressing of A GIRL CALLED DUSTY, and DUSTY...DEFINITELY), and in my experience, the "under licence" wording was always used for the Philips/Phonogram labels, and for WEA (late 1972 onwards), there was a subtle difference in the wording - normal retail copies said "Manufactured and distributed by WEA Records Pty. Limited", and the club pressings "Manufactured and distributed under licence from WEA Records Pty. LImited", with WEA sometimes printed as W.E.A., and the Limited abbreviated to Ltd. I think CBS/Epic, etc (the club's parent labels) were the same as retail, and Australian Record Company (CBS Records Australia Limited from 1977) did all the pressings.
I was wondering what differences there are on Australian Record Club releases (I have a lot) - the earliest Philips one I bought was A Girl Called Dusty.
ARC (CBS) matrix numbers put this in 1963. This looks like an Australian Record Club pressing, as the cover and labels say "Manufactured and distributed in Australia under licence" rather than "by Philips Electrical Industries Pty. Ltd."
