the whistler 22nd Sep 2017		Review This is not an everyday album. The combination of piecing lyrics, melancholy melodies and the majesty of Margo Timmins' voice make it perfect for a quiet winter evening or wet Sunday afternoon. The songs are about heartbreak, people hitting rock bottom or a turning point in their lives. We get a beefy bass sound, lots of eerie slide, mandolin and a fantastic accordion embellishment. Despite the gloom and discontent, paradoxically this album is strangely uplifting. Also found it was great for rocking babies to sleep. Once again there is not a song to be skipped, but each tune needs to be savoured on a decent set of headphones. 6 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review?
