 The Dixies' second Peacock album, and the only one of the group's albums not to be reissued by MCA in the early 1980's, a fate suffered by a few other pre-ABC Peacock albums as well (one by The Gospelaires, one or two by Rev. Cleophus Robinson, three by The Loving Sisters). Two possible reasons:
(1) The master tapes were missing;
(2) Documentation proving MCA's ownership of the album was missing - I have read elsewhere that this is a very common problem with Duke-Peacock masters, particularly for singles that weren't released on albums, and means that MCA (now Universal) are loathe to reissue anything where they can't prove ownership, and they won't license them out either. So, it would seem that unlike A CHRISTIAN TESTIMONIAL, an authorised CD reissue of this album from original tapes seems unlikely. I found this copy ten years ago on ebay, and it has seen better days (cover stained and split), and I suspect that if any of these early Peacock LP's turn up now, they are probably in similar condition!

The album has UV matrices, indicating mastering by (and possibly recording at) Universal Recording in Chicago, but the Hayes/Laughton gospel discography doesn't shed any light on that.
