A good quality recording and excellent performance.
I bought this in 1986 through the underworld crime like network of bootleggers that operated out of the Camden markets. While I was on my grand tour of European doss houses and squats I ran into the drummer from "The Stingrays" working in a record shop in Victoria. He was fascinated with Australian indie music and after hearing my accent approached me for a chat. The fact that I was from Brisbane blew him away as that was his focus as a collector. So after a while I asked him if he knew where I could get this album and he scribbled a name on a card and told to go and see the bootleg tapes guy at Camden markets.
So, I make my way to Camden and spot the bootleg tapes guy and approach him and ask him if he knows where I can get a copy of this album. He says "no, not even on tape". I replied "are you sure because my friend told me you might be able to get one" then I show him the card. He changes his tune and says come back in half an hour. I duly return thinking he'll have the album and ask the tapes guy "how did you go". "Good" he replies and hands me a piece of paper with the address of a lock up on it and a date and time. "Turn up there on time, they only open it for one hour and if they think you're okay you'll get the album."
A couple of days later I make my way to the lock up, someone at the door checks me out, I go inside and buy this album and skidaddle away nonchalantly thinking "phew, that was a bit harder than thought it would be."
