POLYDOR RECORDS LTD release [unreleased]
POLYDOR label - POLYDOR SUPER SERIES

This WHITE LABEL TEST PRESSING compilation was programmed and set for release in June 1978. Artwork had been completed and "dummy" sleeve prepared with picture on front and liner notes, but the project cancelled owing to a lack of confidence in the public's acceptance of the package and the recent release MGM 2353 121 CONNIE FRANCIS SINGS THE GREAT MOVIES HITS into which a love theme had been worked. Despite this album having reached the last stage prior to final pressing and manufacture of sleeve, it remains doubtful if it will ever be released. The proposed sleeve picture was subsequently used on the liner to USA LP POLYDOR 831 699-1 Y-1 THE VERY BEST OF CONNIE FRANCIS Volume Two. A scan of this pose has been provided herewith.

The cancellation of LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE, which (discounting the special ethnic collection of JEWISH FAVOURITES) would have been the official follow-up to 20 ALL TIME GREATS, created the longest gap between British Connie Francis album releases since the 10" LP WHO'S SORRY NOW? marketed by EMI Records on MGM D 153 in 1958.
