Sammy Davis, Jr. was a prosperous entertainer had released successful discs of 33.33 rpm mainly by means of the Decca record label during the 1950s, and had become a member of the Rat Pack. Consequently, all these Rat Pack members were featured in films, such as Ocean’s Eleven, Sergeants 3 and Robin and the Seven Hoods.

When Mr. Davis, Jr. had started to record at Reprise studios, he, Franco Sinatra and Dino Crocetti were the primary artists of this label until Reprise was sold to Warner Brother records in the fall of 1963. This 2000 Reprise popular series of discs of 33.33 rpm had represented the Reprise jazz and soundtrack film series of discs, which had a tri-color label of blue, brown and green. This was the third Reprise disc of 33.33 rpm of the 2000 popular series, but was the first Reprise disc of 33.33 rpm thru which Mr. Davis had recorded. After the “Sammy Davis Jr. Belts The Best Of Broadway” disc, Reprise R-2010 was issued, every Reprise record thru which he recorded was issued by means of the Reprise 6000 popular series of discs of 33.33 rpm.

Finally, the three most prosperous tunes, all of which had nationally peaked higher than position number 20 of the Billboard hit parade of discs of 45 rpm, that Mr. Davis, Jr. had recorded by means of Reprise were What Kind Of Fool Am I, The Shelter Of Your Arms and I Go and I’ve Gotta Be Me.
