Recorded live in Atlantic City in 1955-56.

Unauthorised release: Issued without the consent or knowledge of Nina Simone. She later said that this LP was "... a pirate that I never got paid for and knew nothing about".
In December 1964, Nina Simone filed a lawsuit against Premier Records and claimed $1 million in damages (BB January 9, 1965, p. 9). In February 1965, Simone and Premier Records made an out-of-court settlement. As reward, Simone was being given a cash settlement plus 5% royalties on the total number of albums sold (BB February 13, 1965, p. 8).

Spin-O-Rama was a subsidiary of Premier Records, Inc.
Mono issue: Spin-O-Rama LP # M-130.

The A-side was also issued on another Premier subsidiary, Coronet LP # CSX-242 (1964).
Notwithstanding the lawsuit, the 5 tracks by Nina Simone were again re-issued on Strand LP # 1130 in 1965.
