 I like her ethos of respecting her traditions while moving forward, and I am reminded of another artist Bishi who works in a similar way though her music is more Anglo-centric

I rather like Sheila Chandra incidentally, although I haven't heard this album.

 Why do I get the feeling that whoever did the front cover mis-spelled her surname and they had to force the 'R' in like that to correct it?

 I agree that the drum-machine is over-prominent on Strange Minaret in particular. The title track is more interesting, with a stronger Indian component, and Martin Smith is interesting on bass throughout

Not sure of the expected sales then!
Sounds like a scarce item.
But, do people really want it?
There is always someone who does - thankfully for Sheila.

 Pleasant and mildly interesting for a couple of listens, but lacks depth and the over use of a drum machine after a while is irritating.
