Notes

When a song is as catchy as "Popcorn" you except it to become a hit but what makes the success of Hot Butter's disc so different is that it's the first time the Moog Synthesizer has made its way into the pop singles charts.
Albums, of course, have often featured The Moog with great success but somehow the pop charts have eluded it. That is until Rick Talmagde and Danny Jordan had the bright idea of taking Gershon Kingsley's composition written incidentally, more than two years ago (1970;) specially for The Moog and putting it into the hands of some of New York's top session men.

Thus it was that names like Bill Jerome, John Abbott, Dave Mullaney, Rick Morotto and Russell George found themselves giving rhythm support to the incredible playing of Stan Free on The Moog. It's the Moog that simulates the brass and french horn sounds while the rhythm section is comprised of electric and dry guitars, drums, regular and tack piano, bass, tambourine, temple blocks, finger symbols and an ondioline which gives off the string sounds.
