Performers are probably The Mike Sammes Singers.

| | Odd. If it isn't yer actual Wombles, why would the rear sleeve (above where it says 'Pickwick') say 'By arrangement with CBS Records'? Or was that part of the scam? Or was the person posting here as 'Mike Batt' actually Mike Batt at all? Curiouser and curiouser...
PS. I notice that the page linked to at Dramatico Records shows all of the band's other LPs but not this one. |

| | I have just played Wombling Merry Christmas from my vinyl copy of this record, and compared it to the same track by The Wombles on Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/track/3bysqGzr4SkLtXXpybmE2F?si=d6e19b1c1fe34b33) and they are 100% identical. Assuming that The Wombles on Spotify are the real thing (which they must be since they appear there on Mike Batt's Dramatico Entertainment label - http://www.dramatico.com/artists_wombles.html) that means that this Hallmark album is by the genuine Wombles, and not covers by The Mike Sammes Singers. |

| | Release year for this is probably March 1979. In The Music Master Labels Catalogue SHM 976 Various Artists - 15 Heartbreakers and SHM 979 Various Artists - 15 Tear-Jerkers are both listed as March 1979. With this entry being SHM 977 it only seems natural for the date to be March 1979. Correction Submitted |

| | As there's no artist actually listed, I've changed the heading to reflect that and added your info in the Notes section. Good to hear from you, Mike (and I loved Zero Zero, by the way!). |

| | This is NOT a WOMBLES album. It is not credited as such on the sleeve, but Pickwick 's artwork is intended to make you believe that it IS The Wombles. In fact it is The Mike Sammes Singers, doing rather limp covers of the Wombles Songs. I would like 45 Worlds to put it somewhere else on the site, so that it does not appear as if it is a genuine "Wombles" item. As the creator, writer and singer of the Wombles band, I can assure any would-be buyers that this is not part of the genuine Wombles catalogue, but a cheap copy. The info on the 45 worlds top left list, under artist "The Wombles" should be corrected to "The Mike Sammes Singers" (please) Mike Batt :) |
