Notes

NIPPON COLUMBIA release
MGM label - MONO 12" - "SL 3000" Series

The above is believed to be the first 12" mono album released by Nippon Columbia. It was issued in a '3000' series of numbers with the prefix "SL", in May 1960, two months before the company introduced its '5000' range of numbers, which retained the same prefix, denoting a mono edition. Nippon Columbia employed a "YS" prefix on its stereo releases, numbers of which, while in a '5000' range, do not match those of "SL" editions. Another major difference between editions, is that mono releases were issued on the YELLOW/BLACK MGM label, while stereo issues featured BLACK/MULTI. Confusing matters somewhat, too, is that similarly titled mono/stereo releases do not always feature the same contents. Cross referencing has been provided to indicate the similarities or otherwise of each release.

Same content and USA LP MGM E 3794 but supplied in a different picture sleeve.

Picture sleeve used stems from the same photo session which produced cover to USA MGM E/SE 3869 CONNIE FRANCIS SINGS JEWISH FAVORITES.

The above is believed to be the only Connie Francis album in the SL 3000 range of releases. ROCK 'N' ROLL MILLION SELLERS was subsequently reissued in the SL 5000 series on MGM SL 5049 in December 1961, and again on MGM SL 5106 in May 1963.
