Eamonn Ceannt Ceili Band was founded in Dublin in 1957. Eamonn Ceannt himself was executed in May 1916. He was a fluent Irish speaker and Piper. Four of the founder members - Vincent Broderick, Ciaran O' Raghallaigh, Florrie Schooling & Vi Preston are still playing with the band (in 1975).
