Incidentally, the Wiki article is vague on when they were introduced. It does say that in 1980 - after this LP - "8,000 stores per year were converting". That's some thousands of stores out of millions - would that really be sufficient for a record company - not selling much in supermarkets anyway - to actually print a barcode onto the sleeve? I find it doubful, but I don't know for sure.
Have a look at Wikipedia about the history of the barcode/universal product code (UPC). I think it's absolutely possible. Its introduction was even pushed by RCA in the 60/70s.
I always wondered, if this can really be an original 1979 pressing, as it has a barcode on the back. Anyone seen a different version with this catalogue number?
