Hey Janie, you are spot on and I don't think we need W. B. to confirm your assessment in this case. The deadwax on my copy is etched:
A: SP-070030-A-RCA 2
B: SP-070030-A-RCA 1
So I think that would prove you to be 100% right in this case, mine had the same sticker on the shrink wrap but I got shot of that I really don't like stickers or price tags on records. Saw Magazine in 1980 supporting XTC and they were fantastic and blew XTC away to be honest. Anyway, back to scanner....
Hi Lee, ain't it wonderfull what one finds all the time? I saw this and out of a whim checked my copy for the sticker and stamp (which I added, the stamp being extremely stubborn to reveal it is really golden and embossed....looks just black here, sorry), and then discovered your labels also look different. So I give the runouts below
Deadwax (etched)
A: SP-070030-A- ES - 2 Ⅱ EMW
B: SP-070030- B- ES - 1 EMW
I think our most knowledgeable friend W.B.l could confirm that yours would be a RCA pressing, and mine is from Electrosound Group Midwest, Inc. (see the details on the labels also).
This came in a IRS "company" inner sleeve.
BTW, not only this, but all Magazine amongst my all time faves (yes, I do listen this stuff beyond ruining my eyesight further with runout details.....)
cheers
Janie I've added cover and label scans - well about a week or so ago but accidently created a new entry but spotted yours later and had the Mods (thanks Hawkmarty) merge the two. So now everything is sorted I thought I'd let you know in case you'd run across the mess I'd left in my wake a while back. A great compilation this one!
This one has a sticker on front "Contains songs never before released in America", gold machine stamp on back "Loaned for promotion only Not for sale Ownership and all rights reserved"
