 A collection of the early Cramps singles "Bad Music" captures a band willing to experiment with their own sound and lay the ground rules for what would become psychobilly. More variety in the songs on offer here than their later more formulaic output. The album sounds great, big and raw the CD, which I also have, for some reason sounds thin, lifeless and muddy. Avoid the CD and hunt down the vinyl if you want hear this stuff properly - I suppose that comment applies to nearly everything.
