| | Well, MM, my YT player decided to work properly and I listened to both tracks, Better Side Of Life, somewhat slow in tempo, Really Wanted You a bit more up-tempo and both a bit McCartney-ish in style but not too similar to ol' Paul. But I'm afraid they don't seem to really grab my attention. Not too bad, though! |

| | Oh, dear, MM! There are some holes in your theory there, I'm afraid. Firstly, I don't have Wi-Fi, Secondly, I live in a 1-bedroom housing commission flat, and thirdly we ain't got a pool(awwww, gee!). |

| | It plays ok for me.
The only thing I can suggest Neil, is to put the beer down next to the sun-tan lotion, get yer flip flops on, that are undoubtedly next to the sun lounger, and come away from the swimming pool and go inside the house nearer the Wi-Fi hub :) |

| | Hi, MM! Tried playing YT clip of Better Side... keeps freezing at 29 seconds, mainly because my modem is wireless and is getting a weak signal. |

| | Hi, MM....Now you mention it, Ol' Rhodesy is a bit McCartney-ish, and maybe those home-made masters could've done with a bit of polishing at Lou Adler's Dunhill studios(did Adler still own Dunhill in '71?) to sharpen them up a bit, but that single I have sounds fine(albeit a bit crackly - I bought it second-hand). |

| | Hi Neil, sorry for not responding sooner.
But yeah, it does sound like it was recorded at home...especially the vocals on this just, lack that extra something a pro studio would have given him.
But having now listened to the album, I can say this IS a Wings album!
If you didn't know who it was, and heard any of it's songs on the radio, you'd swear it was Wings... seriously, if you need a new Wings fix, get Emitt Rhodes! |

| | Hi, MM! I had also never heard of Emitt Rhodes until I picked up this American ABC-Dunhill single of his called "Fresh As A Daisy" c/w "You Take The Dark Out Of The Night". What I've managed to find out about him is: he hails from Hawthorne, California(Beach Boys' home town), singer/songwriter/producer whose first LP(from which came the aforementioned single) was produced at home on home-built equipment(apparently) and regulations stated that to record for a major label, one had to use that label's studio(but ABC-Dunhill seemingly "turned a blind eye" to that rule and issued the album anyway). So that's what I was able to find out. |

| | Bought this on spec when I found it in a charity shop... must admit I'd never heard of the guy, and haven't listened to the album yet, but did look at a couple of vids online... wow, you could easily mistake him for McCartney - Wings!
... Even tending toward the Beatles! |
