ReviewAmbitious title considering its basically just artists from one label, namely Lupine. Nevertheless, its an interesting album for collectors who loved the Falcons late 50's classic, "You"re so fine" (not featured here). It has their follow-ups plus a cover version of their big hit renamed, "He's so fine", by the Corvells, probably the outstanding track on this album.
Another track of interest is Bennie McCain's "I don't want no part time love", which seems to share part of the same backing as Wilson Pickett's version. Just the lead guitar is different. (Perhaps someone knows which version came first).
The Falcons had no more hits until 1962 when Wilson Pickett took the lead and recorded the ultimate gospel-inspired classic "I found a love". The Soul era was born! But although fellow group members and many others joined the "Soul Train", Wilson always stayed the closest to gospel music.
