sleeve gives cbs direction cat# as (S)PR 28, but possibly not released in mono as standard boxed "cbs stereo records can be played on mono reproducers without loss of quality provided a stereo cartridge wired for mono sound is fitted to the pick-up..." rubric is at bottom of card sleeve, below b+w repros covers of lps from which the tracks are taken, and their cat#s.

Magic Marmalade 21st Jul 2021		I've copied front cover over to mono entry, and moved the mono indicated back cover and labels over there too. Although the back cover is possibly shared by both mono and stereo, the sticker shows it as how mono copies would appear - an un-stickered version (stereo), would be more appropriate here, therefore... and the labels are wholly mono, with no indication of stereo cat prefix, so I moved them over too :)



ppint. 12th Nov 2016		yes, that's the stereo cover too - the same (S)PR 28's next to the direction arrow on the sleeve front. . . i didn't know they'd pressed any mono copies, and presumed they had not, because of that "...can be played on mono reproducers. . ." - but it sort-of explains why the "S"es were in parentheses. weird & wonderful are the ways of record companies - and today's music business megacorpses are worse by far. . .



7226power 8th Nov 2016		a small (S)PR28 on rear - top left by Direction arrow also on the rear at the bottom in a box is; CBS STEREO RECORDS CAN BE PLAYED ON MONO REPRODUCERS WITHOUT LOSS OF MUSICAL QUALITY PROVIDED A STEREO CARTRIDGE WIRED FOR MODERN SOUND IS FITTED TO THE PICK-UP. IF YOUR REPRODUCER IS A RECENT MODEL, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT IT IS ALREADY FITTED WITH A SUITABLE MONO CARTRIDGE. YOUR DEALER SHOULD BE ABLE TO ADVISE YOU FURTHER IF NECESSARY. both labels have PR28 and mono

7226power 6th Nov 2016		my copy that I won at a local general auction today has a large yellow sticker with mono printed in black stuck on the back of the sleeve
