Added Some Al Martino UK albums, but wanted to add images to, and say something about this one first, for the reason that the labels on this - if the logic holds - are late sixties designs (after 1968 - 69 ?I think), and this is a stereo copy.
This I think is important in that anyone looking at this and thinking that "I own that", may have a different issue.
I come to learn that, due to the scrutiny afforded other EMI output (Beatles, Pink Floyd), this label design comes in about then, and in the case of Capitol, replaces (I think, but am happy to be corrected) the lime green reissue labels, which in turn replace the rainbow rim black labels.
In addition, the date of the first issue of this title is 1963, which is (Again, a not unreasonable assumption) before stereo was generally used for popular music titles such as this, so I assume that this would first have been issued in a mono rainbow rim labelled issue (The cat prefix too marks this as a separate stereo issue from the mono), then a green one, then this, so just wanted to point that out for anyone else who may think they have this title.
The Spanish Eyes album of his I've added also has this label design, but the Best of Al Martino I've added has the green labels, the Vaya Con Dios has the appropriate Sounds superb yellow label design, and the Self Titled Al Martino album has the red and white Top Rank label design (and is the original issue of that album.
