I used to own a copy of this and it is great to be reminded of the track listing.
It seemed to me at the time that a lot of the choices on here were tracks that they hadn't been able to cram onto the "Motown Chartbusters Volume Three" compilation that had come out a couple of months previously. And looking at my copy of The Guinness Book of British Hit Records I can see that no less than eight of the tracks on here charted in The U.K. in 1968/9 ... as follows ..
"What Is A Man" - #16, "Nowhere To Run" - #42, "I Guess I'll Always Love You" - #11, "What Does It Take" - #13, "I Wish It Would Rain" - #45, "Here Comes The Judge" - #30, "Good Loving Ain't Easy" - #26, "I Miss You Baby" - #25.
I met her in a club down in old Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola [LP version: Coca-Cola]
See-oh-el-aye cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said Lola
El-oh-el-aye Lola la-la-la-la Lola
