And here is the proof that very first-pressings had the turquoise / aqua label. (Even better, a Scranton.)

Thanks, W.B. lbl. I always wondered if this was ever issued on the turquoise label. Earliest pressing I ever had was the 1st rainbow ("Long Playing...") label.

That explains why the early LA pressings of The Beach Boys and Beatles Lps pre 1965 have the song titles shifted to the right.. (for a label design that didn't exist anymore!)...John

Very first pressings, which were apparently very limited in amount of copies pressed, would have been on the dark turquoise label used on 'T' releases on Capitol prior to the advent of the first "rainbow" label as seen on the Scranton {Images #590330 & 590331}. Both {Images #506016 & 506017} and {Images #590332 & 590333} were Los Angeles pressing with Bert-Co typesetting (if you see the right side and the way the song selections were laid out, you can see how Bert-Co carried over the positioning from the 1959-61 "spire / Capitol at 9 o'clock" variant to the 1962 "Capitol at 12 o'clock" variant, as late as the end of 1964.

I added two additional label styles. I am not sure where they fit into the scheme of things.
I would guess the "long playing high fidelity" would be the oldest, the logo on top the newest.
