The series, The Great Musicians, was to be an eighty-four, weekly publication to form a seven-volume work of reference covering twenty major classical composers. Each magazine-style publication contained a 33 1/3 RPM, 10" LP of one or more of their works. The series began in 1969 and continued through 1970 but was cut short by only one issue due to the withdrawal of the publications major investor. Therefore, only eighty-three issues are known to exist.
