Notes

Original white labels:
a) MR-3 (XCTV-82217, not on label).
b) MR 4 (XCTV-82218, not on label).

Yellow labels (repressings):
a) MR-3 / R4RM-3023.
b) MR-3 / R4RM-3024.

Neither side of the first commercial issue white label has the Matrix number printed on it and it's also not stamped or etched into the dead wax either.
The Matrix numbers shown on the yellow Tamla labels (images #702506, 702507) indicate a release date of 1964.
The white labels also (incorrectly) show the music publishers for both sides as Jobete BMI.
White label DJ "promo" copies were also released where the usual dark blue part of the record on the first Tamla logo was replaced with red ink.

No credits on labels* and back sleeve (*both original white labels and later yellow labels / repressings).
Song titles above as on original white labels.

Produced by Berry Gordy Jr.
Cover design: Wakefield and Mitchell.

The XCTV numbers cited in that pic were actually for the first catalogue Tamla LP (TM 220) - Hi! We're The Miracles.

On Flickr there is also a listing with a different XCTV no. -- here.
I'm confused.

Information on original 1961 Columbia Custom XCTV numbers (from Chicago) from description accompanying back cover photo as on Flickr.

The universally received wisdom is that this album was out on June 8, 1961. But why, then, was it reviewed in BB in the first week of May?? BB as good as never, to my knowledge, reviewed LPs prior to actual release, and certainly not more than a month before.
